Welcome to the Czech and Slovak Society Sheffield (CSSS).

The aims of the society are to promote Czech and Slovak culture in Sheffield and the region.

We aim to provide informal opportunities for contact between Czechs, Slovaks, students of those languages and everyone interested in the language, history and cultures of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

A further aim of the society is to help Czech and Slovak nationals who are re-locating in Sheffield and the surrounding area. The primary objectives of the web site are: ·

• To promote and increase awareness of the Czech and Slovak Society in Sheffield and create a web presence.
• To recruit new members.
• Advertise and inform members and non-members of all events planned or hosted by the society.
• Promote any event of interest in local or other areas of the UK (including events at the Cz/Sk Embassy London).
• Act as a central point of contact for the local Cz/Sk community.
• Encourage and develop a social group where students learning Czech can practice their language skills with native speakers.
• Organise, host or just inform all users of social events.
• Offer useful links and information to Cz/Sk people migrating to or living in Sheffield.
• Promote the Czech & Slovak Republic countries.
