Tomáš -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ICE HOCKEY   The Ice Hockey season opens next Saturday with a game against The Cardiff Devils. They have a big team this year as always and the game should be an attractive one. I am attaching a jpeg image showing the fixtures in September. Do you think that you could place this on the Czech/Slovak website for us and lets see if any of the community would want to come down to a game? Thanks for your help on this one.  _______________________________________________________________________ Hello CSSS, Here is the link for our website – the welcome information is available to download in Slovak, English and Polish from her:  http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/in-your-area/housing-services/new-arrivals/new-arrivals-information   Thanks, Sol Knights - Service Development Officer   New Arrivals Service Sheffield City Council Floor 2 Howden House 1 Union Street Sheffield S1 2SH Tel.    0114 273 4435 Web     http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/in-your-area/housing-services/new-arrivals/new-arrivals-information Sheffield where everyone matters   _______________________________________________________________________    Dear Czech Sheffield Society We have many new Slovakian Roma children in our school. Does anyone have any contacts about how I can locate Slovak speakers who are qualified to support these children.I have had no success with the Local Authority etc. Students or the non- teaching partners of visiting academics are likely to be suitable candidates to offer these children in-class support. Our school would provide arrangements for CRB checks & offer payment at a sessional rate to be negotiated on the basis of a successful, informal interview. If anyone can help please reply in the first instance to my posy in the forum section. Many thanks Gilly Robson    _______________________________________________________________________________      We have recently received an email from Sheffield Libraries asking about information regarding stocks of libary books.   If anyone would like to add their thoughts on the matter please contact me (details on the contacts page) and tell me what you think.   This is a good opportunity to get some Czech books in the Sheffield Libraries. We need your input to make this happen.   Copy of the email:   Hi I am currently looking at the library stock needs of new communities within Sheffield and hoped that that you might be able to offer a little information and advice.  In particular I'm keen to know where people are living, are Czech speakers grouped in certain areas, or is the spread quite wide?  Related to this, which libraries/parts of town ought to receive Czech stock first?  Is there a particular type of stock, and/or information need that we should aim to meet?  Also, can you make any suggestions around how best to promote Czech language stock and indeed the wider service to the Czech population within Sheffield?   Your advice would be hugely valuable and certainly appreciated. Thanks in anticipation.
